INTRODUCTION |
'I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.' - Martin Luther King Hands of Help is a grassroots, charitable assocaition committed to making a difference to the lives of people living in poverty around the world. Hands of Help was established in 2005 by a Universtiy of Sydney medical student, Phoebe Williams, who will graduate in 2008 to become a doctor. With a background in development economics and having visited East-Africa first hand, Phoebe returned to Australia determined to go back to Africa with more time, money, and people to make a difference. |
What began as a dream has become a reality. Over the past three years, due to the tireless work of hundreds of volunteers and the generosity of so many Australians, Hands of Help as:

All of this has been done achieved while simultaneously maintaining overhead and administration costs of less that 1% - therefore for every dollar you donate, over 99c is spent on the ground in Africa.
This is a figure not achieved by any other known charity in Australia and is thanks to the tireless hardwork and dedication of the Hands of Help volunteers and charity's execuitve committee.
